Credits and Sources
All content on this Dreamcast wiki was written originally for this project. It is not copied from any other guide or wiki. The text reflects general, well-established knowledge about the console drawn from years of community experience with the hardware and its homebrew scene. reference
How this was written
Each page was composed in plain language to explain a single topic clearly, from running homebrew to servicing the GD-ROM drive. Where a tool or product is named, it is mentioned by name only so readers can search for current, authoritative sources themselves.
Inspired by community work
The Dreamcast owes its long second life to a dedicated community of developers, hardware modders, and documentarians. While none of their text is reproduced here, this wiki is inspired by the spirit of their freely shared knowledge, and it aims to point newcomers toward the same practical solutions the community has refined over the years.
- Homebrew developers who keep the platform alive with new software.
- Hardware hobbyists who document repairs, recapping, and ODE installs.
- Preservationists who maintain compatibility and region information.
