Loading games

Once your card is set up, loading a game is as simple as picking a file. Here is how to organize and launch your library smoothly.

Getting files onto the card

DS games and homebrew use the .nds format. Copy your own dumps onto the microSD, ideally into a single folder so the menu stays tidy. Connect the card to your computer, drag the files over, and eject safely.

Launching from the menu

Boot the flashcard's kernel, browse to your games folder, and select a title. The card loads it just like an official cartridge. Most kernels remember where you last were, so returning to your collection is quick.

Keeping it organized

  • Use clear file names; many menus display the file name, not the in-game title.
  • Group games into folders by type or series if your collection grows large.
  • Some kernels show box art if you add small image files; this is optional flair.

If a game will not load

  • Confirm the .nds file copied fully and is not corrupt.
  • Make sure your kernel is up to date; newer games sometimes need newer firmware.
  • Re-test the microSD's integrity if several games misbehave.

Remember

Only load backups of games you own. This wiki does not provide ROMs. .nds
