SD card preparation
SD Card Preparation
A poorly prepared or low-quality SD card is a leading cause of ODE problems. Use a reliable card and follow your board's format requirements exactly, or games may stutter or fail to load.
Every ODE loads its library from an SD card, so getting the card right is as important as the install itself. The steps below apply broadly to Fenrir, Satiator, and Terraonion MODE.
- Choose a cardPick a quality SD card from a reputable brand. Cheap or counterfeit cards cause read errors and corrupted libraries.
- Format correctlyFormat the card to the filesystem your board specifies. A clean format avoids leftover data conflicts.
- Add firmwarePlace the correct firmware for your specific board and region onto the card if required.
- Organize gamesCopy your game images into the folder structure your ODE expects so its menu can list them properly.
- Safely ejectEject the card cleanly from your computer to prevent file corruption before inserting it into the console.
Keep a backup
Maintain a copy of your SD contents on your computer. If a card fails, you can reformat a replacement and restore your library quickly.
