Flashcart setup

Handle the cart by its edges. Static and finger oils can foul the contacts. Insert and remove the flashcart only when the console is powered off to avoid corrupting the SD card.

Flashcart setup

Once your SD card is formatted and loaded, setting up the EverDrive N8 Pro is a matter of installing its firmware and confirming the menu boots. Work through the phases below in order.

  1. Install the firmware
Copy the official N8 Pro firmware package onto the formatted card, placing the files exactly where the firmware notes specify. The menu program lives on the card, not the cart itself.
  2. Insert the card and cart
With the console off, seat the microSD card fully in the flashcart, then insert the cart into the cartridge slot. Make sure both click into place without forcing.
  3. Power on and reach the menu
Switch the console on. The EverDrive menu should appear within a few seconds. If it does not, recheck the firmware placement and that the card is seated.
  4. Configure preferences
In the menu, set your options such as save behavior, default folders, and any display settings. These persist on the SD card for future sessions.

Menu won't appear?

A blank screen or blink usually points at the cartridge connector rather than the cart. If physical games also misbehave, refurbish or replace the 72-pin connector before troubleshooting the firmware further.
