Loading games
With firmware installed and the menu booting, loading a game on the EverDrive N8 Pro takes only a few presses. The in-game menu lets you browse your whole library and jump between titles without swapping cartridges.
From the menu
- Use the directional pad to move through your folders and file list.
- Press the confirm button to enter a folder or launch a highlighted ROM.
- Use the cancel or back button to step up a folder level.
Tips for smooth browsing
- Name files clearly so titles sort the way you expect in the list.
- Group by genre or publisher to keep any single folder from growing too long to scroll.
- Keep favorites near the top by using a dedicated folder for the games you play most.
Returning to the menu
To switch games, use the cart's reset combination or the console reset to return to the EverDrive menu, then pick another title. Because the menu lives on the SD card, switching is fast and requires no physical cartridge change.
A game won't start
If a single ROM fails to load while others work, the file may be incomplete or use an unsupported mapper configuration. Re-dump it from your own cartridge and confirm the firmware is current. If every game stutters at launch, suspect a worn cartridge connector instead.
Once you are loading games reliably, review save management to keep your progress safe.
