What you'll need

What You'll Need

The exact kit depends on your method, but most Xbox 360 projects share a common set of requirements. Confirm your motherboard and dashboard first, since these decide whether you need glitch hardware at all.

Common to most methods

  • A way to read and write the console's NAND for backups and recovery.
  • A USB storage device for transferring software.
  • A clean, static-safe workspace with good lighting.
  • Basic disassembly tools (correct screwdrivers, opening tools).

For glitch-based RGH methods

  • A glitch device appropriate to your board, except where RGH3 allows a chipless approach.
  • Soldering equipment and fine wire for installing triggers and connections.
  • A multimeter to verify connections before powering on.

For JTAG (eligible phats only)

  • A console on dashboard 7371 or lower with an unpatched CB.
  • NAND tooling and a small amount of wiring depending on the board.

Match tools to your method

Buying hardware before identifying your board is how people end up with the wrong glitch device. Identify, choose your method, then assemble the kit.

Always prepare a verified NAND backup before making any permanent change.
