EZ-Flash Junior

EZ-Flash Junior

The EZ-Flash Junior is a budget-friendly flashcart for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. It delivers the core flashcart experience, loading ROM files from a microSD card and playing them from a menu, at a lower price than the flagship options.

What you get

  • SD card game loading with a simple selection menu.
  • Save support that writes progress back to the card.
  • Compatibility across the DMG, Pocket, and Color, and playable through the Super Game Boy.

It focuses on the essentials. If you mainly want an affordable way to play your collection from one cartridge, the Junior covers that well.

Junior vs X7

The EZ-Flash Junior costs less and handles the basics nicely. The EverDrive-GB X7 adds a real-time clock and extra convenience features. If timekeeping games or save states matter to you, consider the X7; otherwise the Junior is a strong value.

Getting started

Format a microSD card, copy your legally owned ROM backups onto it, and insert the card into the cart. Power on and the menu lists your games. As with any flashcart, no tools or soldering are needed, making this an ideal first mod for newcomers who want games without opening the console.
