Loading Games
Once your flashcart is set up, loading games is a matter of copying files and selecting from a menu. Here is the routine you will follow each time you add titles.
Adding games to the card
- Power off the console and remove the flashcart, then take out the microSD card.
- Insert the card into your computer using a reader.
- Copy your legally owned ROM backups into the folder your flashcart uses for games.
- Safely eject the card before removing it.
Selecting a game
Reinsert the card into the flashcart, slot the cart into a powered-off Game Boy, and turn it on. The menu scans the card and lists your titles. Use the D-pad to highlight a game and press the confirm button to launch it.
Keep names tidy
Clear, consistent filenames make the menu easy to navigate, especially as your collection grows. Some menus also let you organize titles into folders.
Returning to the menu
To switch games, most flashcarts ask you to reset or power cycle the console, which brings the menu back. The EverDrive-GB X7 offers convenient in-menu navigation between titles.
If a game will not load
Confirm the file is in the correct folder and that the card is still formatted as FAT32. A re-copy or reformat resolves most loading problems.
