Disassembly tools

• Tri-wing screwdriver for the outer case screws used on Nintendo handhelds.
• Phillips screwdriver for the internal board screws.
• Plastic spudger or opening picks to separate the shell without scratching it.
• Tweezers for handling membranes, springs, and small parts.

Soldering and cleaning

• Temperature-controlled soldering iron with a fine tip for board work.
• Solder, flux, and desoldering braid or a solder sucker for recapping and mods.
• Isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs for cleaning contacts.
• White vinegar for neutralizing battery corrosion.
• Multimeter for testing batteries, continuity, and contacts.
