Loading Games

Once your flashcart and SD card are ready, loading a game is the easy part. The process is the same in spirit across all three carts: browse a menu, pick a title, and play.

  1. Boot the cart menu
Insert the flashcart into the powered-off console and turn it on. The cart's file browser appears on screen.
  2. Navigate to your game
Use the controller to move through your folders. A tidy folder structure on the SD card makes this quick.
  3. Select and launch
Choose a title and the cart loads it, dropping you into the game almost immediately.
  4. Save as normal
In-game saving works through the cart, writing to the SD card. Let writes finish before powering off.

If a game will not boot

  • Confirm the game requires no missing hardware, for example an Expansion Pak for titles that demand 8MB.
  • Recheck the SD card's format and that the file copied correctly.
  • Update the cart's menu firmware for better compatibility.

Region and speed

The cart boots out-of-region backups, but your console's TV standard is unchanged. On a PAL console (50Hz) some NTSC games may run slightly differently than on a 60Hz console. This is normal, not a fault.
