MODE setup
Setting Up the Terraonion MODE
The Terraonion MODE is an optical drive emulator that fits the original PlayStation and several other consoles. Like other ODEs, it loads disc images from an SD card and presents them through an on-screen menu, sparing your aging laser from further wear.
Legal Use
Use the MODE to play backups of discs you own. Create your images from your own copies and store the originals safely.
Card Preparation
The MODE accepts SD or microSD cards formatted as exFAT. Place each game's .bin/.cue pair in its own folder so the menu lists titles cleanly. Larger, faster cards reduce stutter on data-heavy games.
- Format Format the card and verify it mounts on your computer.
- Organize One folder per game keeps the library legible.
- Boot Insert the card, power on, and let the menu populate.
The Menu
The MODE's interface lists detected games and lets you launch a title, swap discs for multi-disc releases, and manage settings. It supports CD audio tracks, which matters for games with red-book music. Selecting a game mounts its image and boots the console normally.
Do not eject the card while powered on. Shut the console down first to protect the card's contents.
Keep the device's firmware current for the broadest compatibility and bug fixes, covered on the firmware page.
