Cheats with PS2RD and Cheat Device

Back in the day, cheating on a PlayStation 2 meant buying a cartridge that plugged into the memory card slot. With homebrew you no longer need any extra hardware. Two community tools, PS2RD and Cheat Device, let you apply codes to retail games straight from your modded console.

How it works

These programs load before or alongside your game and patch values in memory while it runs. You pick the game, enable the codes you want, and launch. The result is the classic experience of infinite lives, unlocked content, or quality-of-life tweaks, all driven by text-based code lists you can edit yourself.

PS2RDA capable, open codes engine descended from the older real-time debugger projects. Flexible and well suited to power users.
Cheat DeviceA streamlined, approachable cheat loader focused on getting codes running with minimal fuss.

Adding codes

  1. Find Grab a code list for your game from the community.
  2. Edit Add the codes to the tool's text database.
  3. Enable Tick the codes you want active.
  4. Boot Launch the game through the cheat tool.

Some codes are unstable and can freeze or crash a game, and a bad code applied during a save can corrupt that save. Test on a throwaway file first and keep a backup.
