The Original Xbox emulates a wide range of systems thanks to its Pentium III-class CPU and capable graphics hardware. Still, it's hardware from the early 2000s, so it pays to know where its limits are and how to get the smoothest results.

RetroArch's convenience sometimes carries slightly more overhead than a dedicated build. If a system stutters under RetroArch, a standalone emulator tuned for the Xbox may run it noticeably better.
Set expectations by the era: the further a system pushed beyond the Xbox's generation, the less likely it is to run well. Within its sweet spot, the console is a reliable, satisfying emulation machine for content you own.
