Running ENDGAME

Confirm you have already backed up your EEPROM before running ENDGAME. If anything goes wrong during launch, that backup is what lets you recover. Do not continue until you have a saved copy stored safely.

Running ENDGAME means moving the prepared payload onto the console and launching it from the stock dashboard. The steps below stay high-level, naming each stage and what it does.

Build the payload

Use the Xbox Softmodding Tool on your PC to generate the ENDGAME payload, choosing options appropriate for your console.
Transfer to the console

Copy the payload onto the console using your chosen method, so it appears as data the stock dashboard can read.
Launch from the dashboard

From the original Microsoft dashboard, open the transferred item. This hands control to the ENDGAME payload.
Reach the installer

The payload loads its installer environment, where the actual softmod will be written in the next stage.

What success looks like

When ENDGAME runs correctly you arrive at the installer's menu rather than back at the dashboard. If the console simply returns to the dashboard, recheck that the payload transferred completely and was launched from the right location.

Stay patient

Loading can take a moment. Avoid powering off mid-launch. Once the installer appears, continue to the installation page to write the softmod.
