Loading Games
With your flashcart set up, loading games is quick and repeatable. This page covers everyday use of the menu, including cartridge games and Sega CD disc images.
Cartridge games
- Power on the console to reach the flashcart menu.
- Browse to the folder holding your cartridge ROMs.
- Select a title and let it load; gameplay starts almost instantly.
- Use the reset or menu combo to return and pick another game.
Sega CD games
Both the Mega EverDrive Pro and the Mega SD can run Sega CD titles from disc images on the card. Keep these images in their own folder, as they are larger than cartridge ROMs and benefit from being organized separately.
Save data
Flashcarts handle in-game saves and save states through the menu. Check your firmware's documentation for how it stores saves so you do not lose progress when switching games.
Tips for daily use
- Keep folder names short and clear so browsing stays fast.
- Eject and safely re-seat the card if a game fails to load, rather than forcing it.
- Back up your saves periodically by copying them off the card.
Once you are comfortable with the menu, switching between cartridge and Sega CD libraries becomes second nature.
