First boot

Before anything else, back up your existing memory card saves. The first boot is the right moment to safeguard real game progress, since later steps can overwrite cards.

First boot

Your first successful launch of Swiss is a milestone. This page walks through what to do the very first time so you start on solid footing.

  1. Confirm Swiss loads
Trigger your entry point and watch for the Swiss interface. Seeing it means your installation works. If it does not appear, recheck the card and entry point before continuing.
  2. Check your storage
Select your device in Swiss and confirm it lists your files. An empty list usually points to a formatting or folder problem rather than a hardware fault.
  3. Back up saves
Use Swiss's memory card tools to copy your existing saves to the SD card. Do this now, while everything is fresh and untouched.
  4. Run a test app
Launch a small homebrew app to confirm the full load path works end to end. A clean run here means you are ready for games.

You are set up

With Swiss booting, storage recognized, saves backed up, and a test app running, your GameCube is fully ready. From here you can load games and explore everything Swiss offers at your own pace.
