SD2SP2
SD2SP2
SD2SP2 is a small microSD adapter that plugs into serial port 2, an unused expansion connector hidden under a panel on the bottom of the GameCube. It gives you fast, permanent SD storage without occupying either memory card slot, which keeps those free for real saves.
Why people like it
- Tucked completely inside the console, so nothing sticks out.
- Leaves both memory card slots available.
- Generally faster than reading through a memory card slot adapter.
- Inexpensive and reversible, with no soldering required.
What it is not
SD2SP2 is storage, not an entry point. By itself it cannot launch Swiss; it only holds your files. You still need a way to start Swiss in the first place, such as the save exploit, PicoBoot, or a boot disc. A very common and tidy setup is PicoBoot to launch Swiss plus SD2SP2 to hold the games.
The serial port 2 cover is fragile and the connector underneath is delicate. Open the panel gently and seat the adapter squarely. Note that some early consoles and the DOL-101 revision lack a usable serial port 2.
Once installed, point Swiss at the SD2SP2 device and it reads your homebrew and game images directly.
