Is my GameCube compatible?

Every retail GameCube can run homebrew through Swiss. What differs is how you launch it, since the available entry points depend on your model and which ports survived its revision. The table below maps each method to the hardware it needs.

Entry pointWhat it usesModel notes
Game-save exploitA vulnerable retail game plus a memory cardWorks on any model; no extra hardware
SD2SP2microSD adapter in Serial Port 2Needs SP2; most DOL-001 only
SD Gecko / SD Media LaunchermicroSD in the memory-card slotAny model with a card slot
PicoBootRaspberry Pi Pico flashing a custom IPLAny model; requires soldering
GCLoader (ODE)Optical drive emulator replacing the disc driveAny model; internal install

Short answer

Yes. If you own a working GameCube, at least one entry point applies. Software-only methods like the game-save exploit need nothing but a game and memory card, so even a stock console qualifies.

The deciding factor is usually Serial Port 2. Most DOL-001 consoles have it, enabling the tidy SD2SP2 adapter, while DOL-101 boards lack it entirely. Check your model before committing to a method.
