PicoBoot
PicoBoot
PicoBoot is a modchip built from an inexpensive Raspberry Pi Pico. You flash the Pico with PicoBoot firmware, solder it to a handful of points on the GameCube motherboard, and from then on the console automatically boots Swiss the instant you turn it on. No discs, no save tricks, no waiting.
Why it is popular
- Auto-boots straight into Swiss at power-on for the cleanest possible experience.
- The Pico costs only a few dollars and is widely available.
- The wiring is minimal, roughly five wires, so it is approachable for beginners with a soldering iron.
- Works alongside storage like SD2SP2 for a fully self-contained setup.
What it involves
You will flash the Pico over USB by holding its BOOTSEL button and copying the firmware, then solder the wires to the designated pads inside the console. After that, Swiss launches every boot.
PicoBoot requires soldering directly to the motherboard. Bad joints or wrong pads can damage the console. If you are not comfortable with fine soldering, practice first or consider an ODE instead.
It is permanent in the sense that it is installed, but it can be removed later by desoldering.
