SD card preparation
Always work on a copy of your files and keep backups. Formatting an SD card erases everything on it, so make sure the card is empty of anything you care about before you begin.
Preparing the SD card
Swiss reads your homebrew and games from a microSD card, whether it sits in an SD2SP2, an SD Gecko, or an ODE. A correctly formatted card avoids most loading headaches.
- Pick a cardUse a reputable microSD card. Smaller, name-brand cards are often more reliable than huge bargain ones. Test a new card for fakes if you are unsure of its real capacity.
- Format itFormat the card as FAT32. Most cards work well with a 32 KB cluster size. Very large cards may need a dedicated FAT32 tool since some systems will not offer the option natively.
- Add your filesCopy Swiss and your homebrew onto the card, along with any game images. Compressed RVZ or NKit files save space and are read directly by Swiss.
- Organize foldersKeep games and apps in tidy folders so Swiss is easy to browse. Eject the card safely before removing it.
With the card ready, insert it into your adapter and you are set to boot Swiss.
