Credits and Sources
This PlayStation 3 reference section was written as original content for A-Hackers-Guide. The explanations here were composed in our own words, informed by the broader homebrew community's accumulated knowledge rather than copied from any single source.
About this content
Console modification knowledge is the product of years of collaborative documentation, testing, and tool development by hobbyists. We are grateful to the developers who build and maintain the software described throughout this section, and to the writers who have documented the process over time.
Inspired by community documentation
The structure and accuracy of these pages were informed by widely shared community resources, including the ConsoleMods wiki and other long-running PlayStation 3 documentation projects. Where established conventions exist, such as model number ranges and the distinction between CFW and HEN, we have followed the community consensus.
Attribution
Full attribution for referenced sources is recorded in the accompanying Credits.txt file that ships with this guide. If you believe a source has been missed, please reach out so it can be added.
Tool developers
Special thanks go to the maintainers of the custom firmware builds, the Homebrew ENabler, hybrid firmware, and the various game and system managers covered in the tools reference. Their continued work keeps these consoles useful long after official support ended.
Corrections
This documentation is maintained over time. If you spot an error or an outdated detail, contributions and corrections are welcome so the guide stays accurate for everyone who follows it.
