Post-install checklist

Skipping verification steps can leave you with an unstable setup that is hard to diagnose later. Work through this checklist in order before relying on the console for homebrew.

Post-Install Checklist

With CFW or PS3HEN in place, a short checklist confirms the system is healthy and ready for daily use. This applies to both paths, with the HEN-specific reminders noted where relevant.

  1. Confirm firmware state
Re-check system information to verify the CFW identifier, or the HFW version with HEN reported active.
  2. Install a manager
Add a homebrew manager such as webMAN MOD, multiMAN, or IRISMAN to organize and launch your legal content.
  3. Verify stability
Open and close a few menus and the manager to confirm the system stays responsive and does not freeze.
  4. Note the HEN routine
On the HEN path, remind yourself that the enabler must be re-run after every cold boot.

Housekeeping

Keep your FAT32 USB drive handy with your install packages on it. Having the files ready makes future updates and recovery far simpler.
