webMAN MOD

webMAN MOD

webMAN MOD is a lightweight management plugin that loads in the background on a custom-firmware or HEN-enabled PS3. Instead of being a full-screen app you launch and quit, it stays resident and adds features to the system as a whole. You reach it either through an in-game menu overlay or by pointing a web browser at the console over your local network.

What it does

  • Mounting games from internal or external storage so they appear on the XMB
  • A built-in FTP server for moving files to and from a computer
  • System controls such as fan speed, temperature display, and LED behavior
  • Quick toggles for cobra/PS2 emulation features and console power options

Why people like it

Because it runs as a plugin, webMAN MOD adds almost no overhead and works hand-in-hand with other managers. You can browse to its web interface from a phone or PC to manage the console without even touching the controller.

System tweaks like fan control are powerful but can affect hardware. Leave temperature and fan settings at sensible defaults unless you understand the consequences.

Tip

webMAN MOD pairs especially well with IRISMAN: use IRISMAN for installing backups and let webMAN handle FTP and background tasks. plugin FTP
