Installing PS3HEN
PS3HEN is the HEN-path counterpart to CFW. Use it only on a console running the correct HFW or latest official firmware. Always keep a backup of your data, as homebrew use carries inherent risk.
Installing PS3HEN
PS3HEN (Homebrew ENabler) brings many CFW-like capabilities to consoles that cannot run true custom firmware. It runs on top of HFW or the latest official firmware and grants the ability to launch legal homebrew, developer tools, and managers without replacing the system software.
The key difference from CFW is that HEN is not permanent. It loads from a package you install once but must be re-enabled after every reboot. This page covers getting the package onto the console; enabling it is covered separately.
- Confirm the baseMake sure the console is already on HFW or the latest official firmware so HEN has a compatible environment.
- Copy the filesFormat a USB drive to FAT32 and copy the PS3HEN package files onto it as instructed.
- Install the packagePlug the drive into the console and install the HEN installer package from the home screen.
- Run the enablerLaunch the installed HEN entry to activate homebrew support for the current session.
Remember
HEN must be activated again each time you power on the console. Bookmark the enabling page so the routine becomes second nature.
Once HEN is active, you can install managers like webMAN MOD, multiMAN, or IRISMAN to round out your setup.
