Step 3: make it permanent

Only run this from working CFW

Install Infinity only after a CFW installer has booted successfully and you are currently in live custom firmware. Keep the battery charged and do not power off mid-install; Infinity modifies the boot process and must finish cleanly.

Step 3: Make it permanent (Infinity)

6.61 Infinity patches the startup sequence so your custom firmware reloads automatically on every boot. After this step the PSP comes up in CFW with no manual launching.

  1. Copy the Infinity installer
With live CFW running, place the 6.61 Infinity installer in the homebrew location on your memory card so it shows under the Game menu.
  2. Run the installer
Launch Infinity from the Game menu. It will detect your 6.61 system and offer to install the permanence patch. Confirm and let it work.
  3. Let it finish
Wait for the on-screen completion message. Do not interrupt it. When done, the installer will prompt you to exit or restart.
  4. Reboot and verify
Fully power off, then turn the PSP back on. It should boot straight into custom firmware on its own. Check System Information to confirm CFW is active without re-running any installer.

You are done

Your PSP now has permanent custom firmware. Infinity reapplies the CFW at every startup, so it survives reboots and battery removal. Move on to the first-boot checks.
