PSP Go
PSP Go
The PSP Go (model PSP-N1000) is the compact, slide-screen member of the family. It dropped the UMD drive entirely in favor of built-in flash storage, making it a fully digital handheld. Despite its unusual design, it is a great CFW device.
What makes the Go different
- Internal storage — roughly 16 GB of built-in flash, plus an optional Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot.
- No UMD drive — all games must be digital, which makes ISO/CSO loading via CFW especially valuable here.
- Smaller and lighter — the most pocketable PSP, with a sliding control panel.
Installing CFW
Update to official firmware 6.61, then install ARK-4, optionally pairing it with 6.61 Infinity for a permanent setup. ARK-4 is maintained and explicitly supports the Go, so compatibility is excellent.
ISO loading shines here
Since the Go has no disc drive, custom firmware is what lets you actually run game backups from its internal storage. This turns the Go's flash memory into a full game library.
The Go is hardware-patched against Pandora's Battery, so it cannot be revived that way. Keep it charged during firmware steps and only use trusted files.
If you value portability and a built-in library over physical UMDs, the Go is a superb choice that CFW makes far more useful.
