Installing plugins
Installing a Plugin
Adding a plugin means copying its .prx file to the Memory Stick and telling the firmware where it should be active. The exact steps depend on whether you use the classic SEPLUGINS method or the PRO recovery menu.
The SEPLUGINS Method
- Create a SEPLUGINS folder at the root of the Memory Stick if it is missing.
- Copy the plugin's .prx file inside it.
- Edit the matching list file, vsh.txt, game.txt, or pops.txt, to point at the plugin.
- Add a line giving the path followed by 1 to enable it.
The Enable Flag
Each line ends with a number: 1 turns the plugin on, 0 leaves it installed but off. This makes toggling easy without deleting files.
The Recovery Menu Method
On PRO and similar CFW, hold a button during boot to enter recovery, open the plugins section, and flip each detected plugin on or off from a clean on-screen list. This avoids editing text files by hand.
| Method | Best For |
|---|---|
| SEPLUGINS text files | Manual, precise control |
| PRO recovery menu | Easy toggling on the device |
A typo in a list file, or a plugin built for a different firmware, can prevent games from launching. Re-check the path and the enable flag if something stops working.
Once enabled, the plugin activates in its chosen context on the next launch.
