Game ISO Won't Load

A backup game file sits on your Memory Stick but the PSP either ignores it, shows "Corrupted Data," or freezes on the loading logo when you select it.

Common Causes

  • Wrong folder. ISO and CSO files must live in a folder named ISO at the root of the Memory Stick. A misspelled or missing folder hides them.
  • Unsupported UMD driver mode. The CFW's chosen emulation mode may not suit the title, causing freezes.
  • Bad dump or incomplete copy. A truncated transfer or a damaged backup produces corrupted-data errors.
  • Filename issues. Special characters or overly long names can prevent listing.

Fixes

  1. Place the file in MemoryStick:/ISO/ and confirm the extension is .iso or .cso, lowercase.
  2. Cycle the UMD driver setting in the CFW recovery menu. Try modes such as the standard inferno or m33 driver until the game launches.
  3. Re-copy the file; compare file size against the source to rule out a partial transfer.
  4. Rename the file to short plain ASCII characters with no spaces.

Only use backups of games you legally own. Downloading commercial titles you do not own is piracy and unsupported here.

If one specific game refuses every driver mode, the dump itself is likely faulty; re-dump it from your original UMD.
